MK Personal Collection The present lot is part of a larger privately held collection and is intended for exhibition purposes only. Ultra Rare Steel Jumbo Patek Philippe Nautilus Wristwatch 3700/1 Circa 1977. The watch features a super cool over-sized steel case with a cushion shaped head secured by four screws located at 3 and 9 o'clock. It has an integrated graduating steel brick link Patek Philippe bracelet that measures 7 1/2", Serial #1.XXX.XXX. It has a Cal. 28-255C nickel-finished lever movement stamped with the Geneva seal, 36 jewels, Gyromax balance with a free sprung regulator, 18K gold rim to the rotor Serial #541.XXX. It is topped with a factory original black/blue ribbed dial with applied luminous white gold baton numerals, luminous hands and date window at 3 o'clock, water-resistant-type case of typical form, stainless steel Patek Philippe bracelet and deployant clasp engraved "Nautilus". As you can see this watch is in overall very good condition. It was purchased from the original owner first time in the market "Market Fresh". This is a great watch and is considered by most Patek collectors as the holy grail for the Nautilus series. At a time when gold was the epitome of a luxury watch and the trend most definitely went towards ultraflat watches, Patek Philippe decided to create the "Nautilus Jumbo" - a bold porthole design with a plain steel case. The nautical design elements were reflected in the name of the watch and its water resistance (120m) which was considerable at the time.
